On my PC, it's in C:\Documents and Settings\[me]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\po4nrenb.default
Probably easier just to do a file search for 'bookmarks'.
If you can't find it on a search, open any folder on your C drive, go to Tools/Folder Options/View, and change the Hidden Files and Folders option to 'Show Hidden Files and Folders'.

Hmm...I just scanned my SUPERAntiSpyware folder with AntiVir and it didn't flag anything.
-
AntiVir PE Classic also has a root-kit scanner. For people using it they have anti-virus and anti-rootkit all in one app, I'd use it too if it weren't for the update problems I keep having with AntiVir.
You're still having them? I haven't had any update trouble nor have I heard complaints in a while now.

Thanks, fire.

Simple answer, I hope...
NAT is enabled in a DSL gateway.
Default IP for the gateway is 192.168.0.1.
Next device (PC) on the LAN is 192.168.0.2.
Next device (wireless laptop) on the LAN is 192.168.0.3.
From a security perspective, is there any advantage to changing the LAN IP's to something besides their defaults? Since the 192.168.0.1 IP is commonly used in routers and the like, does that knowledge help hackers, or does the NAT make that a moot point somehow?
Thanks.

Might be fun to have a contest to make the best CCleaner basics tutorial video. Limit it to 3 minutes or so. (It's not that complicated, after all.) Winner gets a free copy of Windows 95 with supporting floppy discs and carrying case.

I agree with Anthony. The interface is clumsy. (Changing to the Mac Lovers OS skin makes things easier.) Otherwise, it's fine. I use Antivir PE because I think it has better performance, but I don't think one can go wrong with either AV.

That will work. Thanks Mike.

I always thought there was no image burn on LCD's. But lo and behold, I'm getting one. WTF..?

Miss hazelnut,
I changed the controller settings. No difference.
fire,
The setup access is F2 in my case (Dell Dimension 8100) but "set bios to defaults" isn't listed anywhere.

Snapshot of Task Manager: Total 523344, Available 186556, Sys Cache 232088
I did run PC Pitstop before I posted about this. Aside from a few IE security settings it flagged (I use FF), everything passed.
I defrag'd early this week.

I don't have that option on mine.

1. How much ram do you have (less than 512MB or 1GB plus)?
2. Did you modify this line to remove the ip addresses "O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{F01D2692-34AE-4D7D-8004-45BD4E34917F}: NameServer = xx.xx.xxx.x,xx.xx.xxx.x" ?
3. If you have less than 512 you should buy more
4. Decide if you need all those processes running, kill what you dont.
5. Run the various online virus scanners (I've gone blank, can only remember two Panda and Symantic have one, last i checked).
6. Run memory and hard drive testing programs to rule out them being a problem. (Try the MemTest/86) and (HDTune)
Don't forget to run CCleaner (Cleaner and Issues x3)
1. 512
2. Yes
4. I need all that I recognize on there.
6. Did hdtune - Benchmark matched the sample for the same drive on their site, Health and Error Scan were clean.
I run CCleaner daily.

I had to have my Win2000 reinstalled and took the opportunity to have my original hard drive replaced. So the 20G drive was made a slave drive and in went an 80G drive. This was all done at a shop since I had lost my W2k disk a while back.
Since all this happened, the PC has been running sluggish at times. Windows seems to start up normally, but applications take several seconds to open when before they would open instantly. Firefox's memory leak is especially bad now (may be a different issue). I've more or less set up the PC as it was before with the same applications and configurations.
Any idea what may be going on? I thought the new hard drive would show a marked improvement in performance but I haven't noticed anything.
Thanks.

I need to measure segments of video files in tenths of a second. I need to be able to control the movement of the video with a flywheel type control, to get exact measurements from start to finish of a segment. Anyone know a program (preferably freeware) that can do this? Thanks.

When I lived in Japan in the early 80's, this is how the best sushi houses operated. I remember there being way more than one kind of fish in the tanks. If you wanted fresh sushi, and the fresher the better, this was the way to go. The tanks typically weren't visible to the patrons unless they wanted to have a peek, but that was the equivalent of looking up at a famous skyscraper walking around Manhattan - you were considered a tourist or a newbie. Still pisses me off that sushi here in the US costs five times or more what it did there.
