  1. Hi all, new member here, so if this has been discussed just point me to the thread:)

Running Windows Vista and IE8. Have one history item that - no matter what I've done - shows up in the history drop down in IE. Tried all the IE ways of deleting history/cookies/etc... Downloaded CCleaner today and ran it a few times - "Cleaner" and "Register" - and have done power-off-on reboots after each clean. In "Register" all items are ticked, in "Cleaner" all items are ticked except the shortcuts and all the "Advanced" items. Start IE, and that one entry is still there in history. It's an adult site, and if I click on it, it goes to the site. Just can't figure out how to get rid of it.

Any help/direction would be great! Gotta run out for a bit - will check back. Thanks!

Not sure if you'd want to switch browsers, but with FireFox you can browse privately. No URL's are saved or anything which is good for those of us... ... that visit sites we shouldn't. LOL

  2. I swear I just can't win no matter how hard I try. I guess I'll just be using the laptop with non-working keys (it's XP by the way). They don't stick. Everything is very clean..no dust, nothing has ever been spilled, etc. They just have fits where they won't work now.

Can't afford to buy anything at all...no hard drive, no new keyboard or number pad, and definitely no new OS. I can't even finance a trip to the mailbox at this point. So I give up. lol Thanks guys.

  3. Ok so some of you hopefully remember that laptop I was trying to fix...the one with the bum hard drive. Well, on MY laptop, I have 2 more keys that are intermittently working now, bringing the total up to 4. Gets annoying in a big way. So, I was thinking of popping out the hard drive on my laptop, and putting it into that other laptop. Aside from me physically breaking something in the process, there really shouldnt be a problem with me doing that, right? I mean, theoretically it should work just like putting a hard drive from a PC into another PC, correct? I dont mess with laptops too often, so any fixes make me nervous. But it should work, right?

  4. Sweet!!! Reminds me of my dad and our trains. We never planned anything *that* elaborate, but someday I will get ours up and running and on display.

  5. Christmas was different with dad being gone. But it was nice nontheless. My brother and I did all the cooking, one of mom's friends came over for the day, the dogs and cats enjoyed their countless new toys. lol

New Years was uneventful...just how I like it. My brother and I cooked up some wings and jalapeno poppers, made some queso, and had chips and dip and crackers and cheese for New Year's eve. For New Year's day lunch my mom, bro and I went to the Margaritaville Cafe.

And just this past Saturday mom got me a Wii as a late Christmas present. So my brother and I have been glued to it ever since. haha

  6. So as the subject heading says, two keys on my laptop keyboard intermittently stop working. It's the zero and nine keys. Just started about 2 days ago...no dust underneath, no liquids spilled, keys aren't loose. The girl I got the laptop from had replaced the keyboard just a few months before she gave it to me last March/April, so its not even quite a year old yet. It's driving me nuts when they stop working. Any ideas what the issue could be?

  7. Thanks everybody!!

Nah didn't do anything special. Mom had planned a small birthday dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe but funds fell short so it's been put on hold till who knows when. My brother gave me a 50 dollar gift card though. And one of my friends gave me a 2 disc set of classic "scary" movies like the original House on Haunted Hill and such. And I did have happy birthday sung to me in the Esquelto Muerte scare zone at this year's Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. It was awesome. haha

Your lucky if they do`nt mind each other when "Millie" arrived a small grey kitten Fluffy the cat nearly left home, there not so bad now but sometimes Fluff hisses and doesn`t want to be in the same room, but they tollerate each other,Millie was like Hemmi she ate an ate and now one year later she`s the size of a small dog!

It`s good if you can get them to play together...if you have a "Target"store near you,(they are in Chigago and New York area,) they have "Candy Canes" in the pet dept..the cats go mad for them and forget any grief and play together !

I'll have to look for the Candy Canes. Between all the cat and dog toys we have now, I could run my own pet shop. lol But more can't hurt, especially if they help everyone get along! Hemmi is even tolerated by my oldest (and blind) cat, Squeaker. They eat and drink off the same plate sometimes. It's very cute. But when Hemmi tries to play with him, that's when things go awry, and rightly so. So we never leave them unattended together. He (she?) is doing good though. Starting to jump and climb and basically become a terror. But it's what kittens do. It'll pass. :)
