  1. Sad to say I gave up trying to see your full image on ImageShack. It is painfully slow to load, which prompted discussion recently on whether to ban it from this thread.

    If you want members to see your efforts I would respectfully suggest changing to some other hosting site, such as ImageSpeech or PixPipeline.

    Both great sites.

    +1

    I use www.imagespeech.com B)

  2. My old PIII has become a large paper weight.

    I tried to fire it up this morning and no beep just the fans whirring and the CD light flashing.

    I don't have the money to take it in right now but I'll remove the power supply and take it to a local PC store to see if they can check that when there is a nice day for me to get there as it is quite a walk and local bus transportation is impractical and a cab too expensive.

    I'm not complaining as it only cost me $50.00 so far with 512MB RAM, 80GB and 40GB hard drives, Creative Soundblaster sound adapter and large Samsung SyncMaster 17GLi monitor, keyboard optical mouse mounted on a metal computer desk.

  3. I had a look at winapp2.ini and see this needs to be added

    [*Ashampoo Burning Studio 09]LangSecRef=3021Detect=HKCU\Software\Ashampoo\Ashampoo Burning Studio 2009Default=TrueFileKey1=%appdata%\Ashampoo\Ashampoo Burning Studio 2009\Logs|*.*

    I'm not sure what else has to be added that needs to be cleaned.

  4. 'Buy American' rule in U.S. stimulus bill could cost Canada jobs

    Harper, Clement point to U.S. obligations under international treaties

    There is unsettling news for Canada in U.S. President Barack Obama's economic stimulus bill, or at least in the version approved Wednesday night by the House of Representatives.

    It says that steel used in public projects under the $819-billion US plan must be made in the United States, an idea likely to cause trade disputes and block sales by Canadian mills.

  5. Got a little freaked out at the Benchmark Score because I failed miserably...started getting real freaked out till started reading the details; they had an X on current service pack and they talked about SP1 which I have SP2. Only got a perfect score on 1 section and it only had 2 entries. So figured I better get ya'lls expert advise before I went over the bend. I copied both of the docs in My Docs. Concerned about the Critical and Security Hotfixes. I'm on Windows Update but haven't gone on the site personally in quite a while. Do they not send everything I need through Windows Update?

    SP3 has been available for over 6 months and has several security fixes so you should go to Windows Update in IE then select Tools then Windows Update then let it run and it will take a long time to update and probably a couple of reboots and checking Windows Update until all updates are applied.

    Go to Control Panel then Automatic Updates then select Automatic (recommended)

    Don't have anything in my Startup Folder.

    Windows has many places to start things so a HijackThis log will show what is starting.

  6. Make sure you have a current System Restore point.

    Have a look at the registry entry for the reader by using regedit by going to start then enter regedit then click OK then select HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\6.0\AVGeneral then tap Del to remove the entry then end regedit.

    I found it by looking in winapp2.ini

    [*Adobe Acrobat 6.0]
    LangSecRef=3021
    Detect=HKCU\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\6.0\AVGeneral
    Default=True
    RegKey1=HKCU\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\6.0\AVGeneral\cRecentFiles

    Then use Search to look for Adobe to find all Adobe files and remove all the 6.0 files and Folder.

  7. But the exe/zip file gets renamed each time there is a new version.

    I hate that.

    Its OK on my desktop but it is a real pain keeping my Flash cards up to date with the Slim version as I have to delete the old and unzip the new.

  8. Amazon.com is very trustworthy, they ship really fast, and I've used them before to buy audio CDs, video games, etc. Just use an actual credit card though where you have limited liability when shopping online if someone steals your account number, and never ever use a checking card online!

    Good grief.

    Over $20 and that did not include tax! :o

    The last CD I bought of his was We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions for about $10.00CDN including tax at Best Buy and I see it on Amazon.com for $14.49US not including shipping and taxes :rolleyes:

  9. I'll just make a short list of about 20 off the top of my head :

    Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service, Leftover Crack, Choking Victim, Swollen Members, Brand New, Jeff Buckley, K'naan, Star f-ing Hipsters, Aesthetic Perfection, Necessary Response, Imperative Reaction, Tool, A Perfect Circle, The Faint, Elliott Smith, MC Frontalot, AFI, Eminem, and Imogen Heap

    What no Cradle of Filth?

    I saw it on one of the IT Crowd episodes:

    I'll give it a whirl but I think I'll have to send for a team of Huskie dogs and sled as it is snowing like the dickens now and I have to go to the bank to top the card up and pay rent plus get some money for food :mellow:

  11. At the moment my favorite is Springsteen's new album Working on A Dream.

    He takes up where Magic left off and takes it to a new level. There are a couple of songs on here that are as good as anything hes ever done.

    All time favorite is hard to say, there are just too many but my go to answer is usually either The Beatles or Dylan.

    I'm with you.

    I'll have to see if I can afford the new Springsteen album but I don't want to go to Best Buy to buy it as it is a long way away from me so I was wondering about purchasing it on-line but I have not done that before and wondering what's easiest and safest? :unsure:

  12. This is what I use via winapp2.ini for CCleaner:

    [*CCleaner]; Deletes all non-English languages.LangSecRef=3024Detect=HKCU\Software\Piriform\CCleanerDefault=FalseFileKey1=%ProgramFiles%\CCleaner\Lang|*.dll

    I put winapp2.ini on my Flash drive that has CCleaner portable to keep them the same.
