I friend was doing a clear out and he found an un-opened copy of Norton Antivirus 2002 which he had never got round to using. Just wondering if this old version is still support? e.g updatable.

I've been using Giant Antispyware since before Microsoft bought them. I don't use SpywareBlaster, I use Giant, Ad-Aware, Spybot & NoAdware3. But I only use Giant to monitor ib the tray.

Just been looking through my startup programs list using CCleaner and I noticed a blank entry, anyone know what its about? I checked in msconfig and its there aswell. Is it safe to remove?

What version of CCleaner are you using? I think that bug was fixed in v1.19.105

I think I'm going to go for Avast! I was looking at the 12 month free trial one on the Microsoft site but I want a freeware AntiVirus product so Avast! it is. Thanks for your input guys.

After years of using Norton Security products, I'm getting sick of Norton resource hogging my PC's along with loads of other little problems and the high price tag for yearly updates and upgrades. I'm thinking of installing ZoneAlarm personal firewall (free edition) instead. But I can't decide on which Antivirus software to use along side it. I've herd loads of good things about Avast! and AVG, so I'm going to use either one of those, but can't decide which. What are your views on each and which do you recommend?

Yer I have Avast and ZoneAlarm on my other PC so this time I'll use them on this PC too. Norton is a resource hog I know that, F-Secure was a trial.
