  1. I am actually running new PD10 now (received an e-mail from Raxco as well). Looks like the interface is a bit better now, and the speed of defrag is noticeably faster than in PD2008.

    Regards,

    igt

P.S. Sorry, sometimes my English is not good, because English is not my first language.

I also have it installed, but haven't tried degragging with it yet. I'm anxious to do that in the next day or two.

P.S. Your English is just fine -- no problem at all.

  2. Thanks for your comments, iqt. Actually, I've used both programs myself, but for me, it's really hard to tell which one affords better overall performance. Of course, for anyone watching this thread, JKDefrag is free and PerfectDisk Pro is commercial.

Just a day or two ago, I received an upgrade notification and link to PerfectDisk 10 Pro. I believe this was an advance release to paid subscribers, but it may be available to all now. It will be interesting to see how this new version preforms.

  3. Just downloaded this -- have not used it before. It display a few USB things that are no longer active on my system. So, what happens when you right-click one of those items and choose: "Uninstall Selected Device?"

  4. If you monitor your software installations (ZSoft or Total Uninstall) -- and also monitor each subsequent update or upgrade, what uninstall sequence should be used? With either uninstall monitors, would you start uninstalling the most recent version and work back -- or the other way around? Or, is that not necessary at all if you just uninstall the most recent version of the software? Or, doesn't it matter either way?

  5. Never had a problem uninstalling it. Current version (4.0.0.10) working faultlessly on my XP Home SP3, alongside Avast and PCTools firewall.

How long have you been using it with this configuration?

  6. 1. You uninstall it.

    2. You look into where it was installed and nothing was removed.

I've tried it twice before and both times it just didn't last long on my system as both times it causes issues. Frankly I don't think ThreatFire is needed at all on a system with either Avast or Antivir installed when coupled with something like SUPERAntiSpyware.

So, how did you end up uninstalling it?

  7. Anyone have any experience with PC Tools ThreatFire?

Because it uses a behavior based detection system, can it be used concurrently with another AV program such as AntiVir (with active protection activated) without conflict?
