It launches when needed. Configuration is through Start/All Programs.
I can't even find it there -- how is it listed? Do you think something went wrong with my install?

I am actually running new PD10 now (received an e-mail from Raxco as well). Looks like the interface is a bit better now, and the speed of defrag is noticeably faster than in PD2008.
Regards,
igt
P.S. Sorry, sometimes my English is not good, because English is not my first language.
I also have it installed, but haven't tried degragging with it yet. I'm anxious to do that in the next day or two.
P.S. Your English is just fine -- no problem at all.

How do you launch QuickTime Alternative -- is there is GUI somewhere (I can't find it)? Guess I assumed there would be a Desktop shortcut or something to access it. Or does the program just passively call on itself when it's needed?
-
Thanks for your comments, iqt. Actually, I've used both programs myself, but for me, it's really hard to tell which one affords better overall performance. Of course, for anyone watching this thread, JKDefrag is free and PerfectDisk Pro is commercial.
Just a day or two ago, I received an upgrade notification and link to PerfectDisk 10 Pro. I believe this was an advance release to paid subscribers, but it may be available to all now. It will be interesting to see how this new version preforms.

Guess I was wondering if it just removed the item from the list, or if it uninstalled some old drivers -- or something like that.
-
Just downloaded this -- have not used it before. It display a few USB things that are no longer active on my system. So, what happens when you right-click one of those items and choose: "Uninstall Selected Device?"
-
Kind of what I was thinking, but thought I'd ask anyway.
-
If you monitor your software installations (ZSoft or Total Uninstall) -- and also monitor each subsequent update or upgrade, what uninstall sequence should be used? With either uninstall monitors, would you start uninstalling the most recent version and work back -- or the other way around? Or, is that not necessary at all if you just uninstall the most recent version of the software? Or, doesn't it matter either way?

On another site, I read that some were having trouble with FireFox loading more slowly with this new release of Sandboxie. Has anyone here experienced this?
-
Came across this list which may be useful.
Not surprisingly, I haven't checked them.
Thanks, Dennis, a very comprehensive list!

My FF2 seems to be working just fine -- are there any real compelling reasons to upgrade to FF3?
Also, have most of your extensions been functional after the upgrade?
-
Does FF3 install right over the top of FF2 like most other FF updates -- or does it need to be a clean install?
-
Just wondering if a compact/optimize feature has been added to Defraggler yet -- or if that's still forthcoming?
-
If you're only interested in Eraser without committing to a full install give Eraser Portable a try.
After reading Login123's word of caution, where does this portable version fit into that warning?
-
Never having used "Eraser," does it simply clean free space -- or can it also delete files and folders -- then clean?
-
Maybe DBAN is for usage on a bootable floppy or bootable CD?
I think it is. At least that's what I understood from my reading on their site.
-
I kind of shy away from these utilities, but here's a couple: DriverMax -- DriverUpdater Pro
-
How does DBAN compare with Eraser? Is it a favorable alternative -- or are the completely different?
-
Never had a problem uninstalling it. Current version (4.0.0.10) working faultlessly on my XP Home SP3, alongside Avast and PCTools firewall.
How long have you been using it with this configuration?
-
1. You uninstall it.
2. You look into where it was installed and nothing was removed.
I've tried it twice before and both times it just didn't last long on my system as both times it causes issues. Frankly I don't think ThreatFire is needed at all on a system with either Avast or Antivir installed when coupled with something like SUPERAntiSpyware.
So, how did you end up uninstalling it?
-
It also doesn't even bother to uninstall if you attempt to uninstall it!
Please explain further!!
-
Anyone have any experience with PC Tools ThreatFire?
Because it uses a behavior based detection system, can it be used concurrently with another AV program such as AntiVir (with active protection activated) without conflict?
-
I use this PageDefrag and it defragments the registry at every boot. And also the pagefile.sys and the hiberfil.sys.
Same here -- works very well.
-
It only works with IE I think.
You're right, Andavari -- guess that's why I haven't tried it. However, according to their site, they are planning on making it compatible with Firefox at some point.

Thanks, Dennis . . . and Corona.
