Moderators rridgely Posted March 4, 2007 Moderators Share Posted March 4, 2007 I'm not so sure these tests really mean anything. But going by that test, the three free av's rank as: 1. Antivir 2. AVG 3. Avast I'm not so against that, but if someone went by that test, the would think that norton was almost as good as kaspersky or bit defender. Maysky
Seems Kav may have lost its crown!http://www.av-comparatives.org/ If you read the full test (pdf), you'll see this: From the report: "(*) AVK, eScan, F-Secure and TrustPort are multi-engine products: - AVK 2007 contains the Kaspersky and Avast engines ... " The "top" 5 finishers besides Kaspersky all use multi scan engines, and AVK which rated #1 in this report use Kaspersky and Avast. ---

Moderators rridgely Posted March 8, 2007 Moderators Share Posted March 8, 2007 If only someone can combine Kaspersky and NOD32! --- Ugly like nod and slow like kaspersky, what an awesome program! I'm joking... both programs are awesome.
Moderators DennisD Posted March 8, 2007 Moderators Share Posted March 8, 2007 Very happy since changing to Avast Home Edition. Easy to use, easy to configure, and a very neat touch when the blue "virus definitions updated" window pops up, and a cultured male voice tells you that it`s just been updated. Seriously though, works great with PC Tools Firewall, and the pair are very memory light compared to my previous setup. Time will tell how good they really are. And that, as we all know, is the best test of all.
