rhys
I have tried loading and running CCleaner on my laptop 6-7 times now and always get the same result. The program loads with no problems and adds the icon to the startup window. (XP) When I click on the icon an hour glass appears for about 2 seconds and then disappears. CCleaner never opens or runs? Am I a dink and missing something? I use this program on 3 of my other computers w/ no issues what so ever. All help and or input is greatly appreciated. Moderators hazelnut Posted December 5, 2006 Moderators Share Posted December 5, 2006 So you are able to download and install the progam okay, you just cannot open it ? What happens in safe mode? Also when you install it do you have " automatically check for updates ticked"? If so try unticking this option. Does ccleaner show up in add and remove programs? Welcome to the forum rhys The program downloads and installs w/o a problem. I unchecked the "Check for automatic updates" and still the nothing. No, CCleaner does not show up in the 'Add & Remove Programs' window. It does show up on the start menu and in the all programs list. The program loads & installs normally, but when I click on the the icon to open & run the program I get the hourglass icon for about a sec or two and then nothing. Not sure what yo mean by Safe mode?
