QuestionMark
It kept on preventing me from running GoG Galaxy (Windows 10), even when there was nothing to be seen from Ccleaner in Task Manager. What Does CC have to hide that I can't even temporarily disable it or disable its tasks or services? So now I've done it permanently, rebooted and GoG works perfectly again. So until someone/anyone has a solution against CC killing the GoG client I won't be re-installing this program which thinks it has the right to decide what I can and cannot run on MY OWN COMPUTER. Moderators nukecad Posted August 15, 2023 Moderators Share Posted August 15, 2023 CCleaner is not an antivirus/antimalware, it does not prevent things from running. It can put background processes to 'sleep' if you specifically tell it to but only if you specify that it should be done for a particular background process, and they 'wake' again when wanted/needed. I'm intrigued as to how you believe that a non-running app could interfere with another app? It's much more likely that you have run CCleaner and removed some files, cookies etc. that you need for your game sharing platform. So you then had to set them up again. (Possibly you had set CCleaner to run at startup, and didn't notice it running and cleaning things?) *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? QuestionMark
Ccleaner did not run at startup. When I tried to run GoG Galaxy as non-admin, nothing didn't even happen. But when I did run it as admin, Task Manager briefly showed up GoGGalaxyClient together with a Ccleaner app/service. After a couple of seconds both disappeared. Task Manager showed no reference to Ccleaner being active whatsoever. When I uninstalled Ccleaner and re-installed GoG (as admin) everything worked (and still does so) perfectly. I don't even have to run GoG as admin any more either. So saying Ccleaner has nothing to do with it is an untruth.
