Renewal Help Desperately Needed

Hello CCleaner forums,

This thread may be off topic, but I cannot get the answers I need to continue using CC.

A couple days before my subscription ran out I put in a request as a paid subscriber about upgrading to more than a three pc bundle subscription.

The reply said yes, but indicated that Defraggler was replaced by Kamo.

I really never use the other bundled programs, save for Defraggler and very occationaly Speccy and I have no use for Kamo.

I asked if I can get CC unbundled for five PC's for two years, but never got a reply.

In the meantime my subscription has expired on my three computers and I do not know were to turn.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, TaterMacandCheese

As your existing lience subscription has expired then it would seem that all you need to do is purchase a new licence/subscription for CCleaner to cover the number of devices you want to cover.
You will get a 'new style' product licence key to use on the devices.
The 'new style' key can be used to register CCleaner on PC, Mac, and Android devices.
It's also used to register the bundled apps if you choose to use them.

CCleaner Pro covers one device.
CCleaner Pro Plus covers up to 3 devices. (It comes bundled with Recua & Speccy)
CCleaner Premium covers up to 5 devices. (It comes bundled with Recuva, Speccy, and Kamo).
For above 5 devices you would be looking at a business version, CCleaner Cloud.

Fair enough you may not want the particular bundled apps, but just compare the price of 3, 4 or 5 single licences with the prices of the Pro Plus and Premium bundles and you are still winning even if you never use the bundled apps.
Particularly if you buy during one of the frequent Sale Offers. (Or a cashback offer).

eg At the moment here CCleaner Premium (5 devices) is showing a £15 (GBP) discount on the purchase page, that's 19% off. (And so it's currently less than half the cost of 5 individual CCleaner Pro licences).

PS. Defraggler has been removed from the bundles simply because there is no longer a paid for Pro version of Defraggler, the Free version of Defraggler is still available and does everything that Defraggler Pro could do.

PPS. You don't actually get sent the 'bundled' apps, you download/install them seperately and then enter the key to register them.

Hello nukecad,

Thank you for replying to my thread.

I agree with what you are saying, and it is really the only way to go, but, and this is part of the problem, there is no 5 pc option I can find anywhere on the Cleverbridge site, and definitely no two year option.

I have had the paid professional version for a few years now and wanted to take advantage of a multi year subscription as it is cheaper in the long run.

The original reply from Support had a link that was this listed as 5pc but when you click the link now its only for 3 pc.s

I sent in another support request for a new link but the reply only talked about needing priority support to continue.....

So....... Any help would still be greatly appreciated.........

Regards,

There are a few different 'Buy Now' pages, depending on what link you follow. (And yes that can be confusing).

I've found a "2 Years - 5 Devices" on this purchase webpage (I assume you want US dollars, you change it top right of the page): https://secure.ccleaner.com/502/uurl-hmb2vdrs80?x-campaign=1&x-origin=2&x-variant=1

The payment forms/options are below that as usual.

Interestingly I've noticed that if you change currency from GBP to USD or to Euros then the symbol changes but not the amount.
For all other currencies the amount changes as well.
If that's intentional then it's a lot cheaper to purchase in USD or Euros than it is in GBP, depending on the exchange rates at any time.
(Although local purchase taxes may make a difference too).

PS. CCleaner Premium includes Priority Support, which may have been what that email was going on about?

Thank You Nukecad !

That's what I needed to resolve my issue.

Wish I could have gotten it without the bundle but it is what it is.

PS: Support just replied to my email for a current link,  seems I have an active subscription now......  They verified its a 5 pc
two year sub.

Thanks for your help.

Good to hear you got what you needed.

Just regard the bundled stuff as 'free stuff' that you don't want.
It hasn't cost you anything so if you won't use it then don't install it, nobody is forcing you to.

Personally I don't want Kamo, I do ocassionally use Recuva and Speccy but wouldn't pay for the Pro versions because the Free versions do the same job (except for some very specialist stuff in Recuva) just without automatic updates and 'priority' support.
(You can get free help from other users on this forum anyway).
So basically, apart from the specilised Recuva functions, you are paying for the support and some people do want to do that.

PS. That's one reason why Defraggler Pro is no more, functionally it didn't do anything more than Defraggler Free can do anyway, and it's simple enough not to need much support. Defraggler almost certainly won't be getting any more updates.
The rise of SSDs means that the home users' need for a defragmenting tool is reducing. All defragmenters will gradually become a niche tool for those who still have spinning magnetic discs for whatever reason.

Hello nukecad,

I have been busily installing my CC bundles on my machines since my last post, and I would not be doing this without you stepping in to help.

I am keeping the Defraggler installed, the one I got with the original bundle I purchased. It is the professional version, still registered to me.

I may have one of the last pro versions since it is currently N/A.

When I installed it I made it the default program for defrag but it is now just a "trim" tool for the blocks. ( I do hope its not trying to defrag my SSD.....Lol)

Thanks again  for your help, its ashame that Customer Support has difficulty staying on top of their workload.....

I consider this problem solved/resolved if you wish to close this thread.

No problems.

Personally I let Windows TRIM my SSDs, and just have Defraggler now for the ocassional defrag of external spinners. (My old laptop drives put in enclosures after swapping then for SSD's).

Defragging a SSD will not damage it, and Windows itself as well as TRIM'ing will also occasionally defrag a SSD - if it deems it necessary.
Defragging a SSD just uses up a bit of the write life of the drive, and while that could be an issue if done regularly (daily say) an occasional defrag is not a great concern with modern SSDs which have much longer write lives than the early ones.

We don't usually close threads, we just let them drop down the boards as new threads come along.
