That will probably be because you have dual channel memory capability, so Speccy is reporting the number of channels available/used (8 in total) rather than just the physical slots (4). If it just reported the physical slots then that would be less RAM channels than you actually have available. Why the first line says only one slot total is probably just due to the way the multi-channel RAM controller is configured by HP.
