Dachstein
Hello, when I click on "check for update" in the ccleaner main window the main window closes. Observed on WIndows 10, Build 19045.2311 Best regards Stephan
Dachstein
I have to add that the issue only occurs when running ccleaner as a normal user. Wen you are running ccleaner as an administrator the issue doesn´t occur.
Moderators nukecad Posted November 17, 2022 Moderators Share Posted November 17, 2022 Thanks for reporting this. There have been previous reports of some permission issues when running, or trying to run, CCleaner 6x versions as a standard user. The devs have been working to fix it but it looks like it's not quite been addressed yet. We do have a workround that has worked for others. When installing CCleaner if you run it as the last step of the install then it will/should work as normal for a Standard user. It doesn't matter if you are an admin or a standard user when installing, just run it the first time from within the installer. Make sure this is ticked and click 'Finish'. CCleaner will open - you can close it straight away without running anything, or do a clean, your choice. A non-admin user should then have the proper permissions when they run it as normal. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Dachstein
Hi Nukecad, now I uninstalled ccleaner and installed it again as the admin user, ran ccleaner as admin user, but the issue for the normal user persists. Unfortunately. Everything else besides "Check for update" seems to be working fine.
