SeanT
Does anyone know exactly what CCleaner & Kamo offer in terms of network & OS/Operating System security for older PCs? I have a Win7 OS (Home Premium ver., 32bit) on my desktop and just had to uninstall my Avast Security products (in favor of Kamo & the paid CCleaner services. How well is my PC and network protected with just these (and Windows Firewall)?
Moderators nukecad Posted June 13, 2022 Moderators Share Posted June 13, 2022 CCleaner is not an Antivirus/Antimalware app - it's a junk file cleaner with a few extra tools. Kamo disguises your 'fingerprint' on the web - it isn't an AV/AM as such either. With Windows 7 you will need to install another AV/AM if you want to be protected. (Win 8, 10, & 11 have Widows Defender built in as standard). Which one you choose is up to you, there are many out there to pick from. Is there a particular reason why you "had to" uninstall Avast? PS. You'll know that Win 7 is now end-of-life, have you considered upgrading to Windows 10?You can still upgrade Win 7 to Win 10 for free, it's pretty easy and I've done it for a few people recently since 7 became EOL: https://www.zdnet.com/article/heres-how-you-can-still-get-a-free-windows-10-upgrade/ *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Worried about why some files come back after cleaning?
