Brave Application

I have noticed recently that the browser Brave is not being cleaned during a custom clean when it should be even though all the relevant boxes are ticked. Can anyone please explain why this is/ Cheers

Usually if a browser (any browser) is not being cleaned then it's because something is still running in the background, CCleaner cannot clean it if it's still open/running.
Quite often it's one of the extensions/add-ons, but it could be a built in browser updater or similar.

Open and close the browser and with the browser closed open Task Manager to see if you can spot anything related to the browser or an extension/add-on still running in the background.
That should point up if it's a particular extension/add-on/updater/etc. that is still running in the background.

For Brave in particular go to brave://settings/system and make sure that Continue running background apps when Brave is closed is disabled.

I did that with however it restores it to I'm assuming a default setting where the "Continue running background apps when Brave is closed"  tab re-enables itself. i.e. It's always on

I don't know why it's changing the setting back.

I think you'll have to check Task Manager to see just what apps are continuing in the background.

If it's only started happening recently then it may be an addon that you added recently.
