isobel
Hi, I recently uninstalled Opera and then went through the registry (regedit) to delete any Opera entries.. Opera is still listed on CCleaner like it is still on the computer. Does anyone know what I can do? How did you remove Opera from CCleaner? any help would be greatly appreciated *EDIT* I didn't clarify that I am talking about the "Cleaner" button section, not the uninstall section. Sorry about that..
TheFiresInTheSky
if you did already uninstall it, just click opera then click delete entry. if you ran the uninstaller and didnt just right click and delete it, it should have already been removed. Moderators Andavari Posted July 20, 2006 Moderators Share Posted July 20, 2006 Please clarify some things! Is CCleaner showing it in 'Tools->Uninstall' or is CCleaner showing it in the large Cleaner button section? In any event if CCleaner is showing it, you may not have fully removed Opera as of yet. You went through the registry to remove Opera there, however: * There will still be an Opera program files folder left over. * Possibly some Opera files in your global Application Data folder, or user profile Application Data folder depending on the Opera version you had installed. Sorry, I did not clarify! I meant in the *Cleaner* button section, not the tools/uninstall. I had the latest Opera 9 installed, I uninstalled it from "add/remove programs" and then when I noticed it was still on the Cleaner's list, I searched for and deleted any Opera entries in the registry. Do you have any thoughts on what I should do now?
Moderators Andavari Posted July 21, 2006 Moderators Share Posted July 21, 2006 Look in the following directories for an Opera folder, and if found delete it. Windows XP: C:\Program Files C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Profile Name\Application Data Other Windows versions, such as Windows 98: C:\Program Files C:\Windows\Application Data
