greggdilorenzko
I have using defrag for many years now, never had a problem. I have a ACER Aspire with latest WIN 10. Now for this version the sectors are grey and after a few moments it crashed. Please inform me on how to fix the problem. Gregg
Moderators Andavari Posted February 9, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 9, 2019 Are you referring to Defraggler? Some defrag issues such as failure to defrag, freezing, etc., (regardless of the defrag software) may be remedied by running the disk error checker ChkDsk on the hard disk(s). Moderators Andavari Posted February 9, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 9, 2019 The computer being brand new however doesn't get you off the hook, there could in theory be a hard disk issue. Now if there is or isn't a hard disk issue I don't know, that's why there's tools like ChkDsk and hard drive confidence tests to take the guess work out. Then again it could just be a software issue such as something running that's interfering or Defraggler itself.
greggdilorenzko
I checked and defragged the machine using command line tools and defraggler only starts and stops into the process. Any other ideas?
