Lurker88
I'm running Windows 7 pro and I have had grief with the version before this (5.44) and now this one. 5.45 shows that it is installing and goes through the motions but it never installs and throws no errors. Install was run as administrator. Version 5.44 crashes immediately when launching from the recycle bin. A pop-up window say "Ccleaner has stopped working". If I open it instead I can then run the cleaner that way, even though I still get the popup saying it stopped working. MalwareBytes had been disabled in advance. Running Kaspersky Total Security, which I've been using for 10 years now and have never had a problem with a conflict before. I tried shutting down Kaspersky and it still would not install. Any suggestions?
Moderators Nergal Posted July 24, 2018 Moderators Share Posted July 24, 2018 Kaspersky is currently looking into why their software conflicts with ccleaner. See this thread https://forum.piriform.com/topic/52268-ccleaner-will-not-run/ ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Lurker88
Thanks. Before I had only disabled Kaspersky temporarily when I tried installing 5.45. This time I exit KAV and then tried the install again and it worked! I restarted KAV and now CCleaner works fine and does not crash when running from the recycle bin.
