terico
Hello, New PC running Win 8.1. Transferred apps and files from old to new PC. I've used CCleaner for years. No issues. With new PC I have latest CCleaner version downloaded from Piriform. CCleaner progresses to 21% then gets stuck for hours cleaning the Systems Empty Recycle Bin folder. If I de-select that folder it runs and cleans fine and finishes quickly. , But if I have System selected, it gets stuck unusually (3 hrs) too long stuck on that folder. Should I leave CC running overnight? Any suggestions, please? Thanks.
Moderators hazelnut Posted October 9, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 9, 2015 Sounds like you may have a corrupt recycle bin. terico
Wonder if to upgrade to Win10 (which is prompting me to do) ad that will clear the issue? Thanks hazelnut for your response.
Moderators hazelnut Posted October 9, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 9, 2015 Fix the corrupt recycle bin before you think about doing an upgrade. No sense in taking corruption with you. Don't worry about doing the corrupt recycle bin fix, just follow the steps and it will work. Plenty of others have done it (which is why we have the fix as a pinned item to point people to.) Remember you don't have to upgrade to Win 10 if you don't want to. Don't be forced into it, it is your machine after all Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com
terico
Agree! Frankly, not crazy about upgrading to Win10. I upgraded my other laptop to Win10, and Chrome is now very unstable. Will follow steps you suggested. Thanks again.
