jengr2015
I have a windows 8.1 computer and a 64 bit operating system. Will it hurt my computer if I run CCleaner on a daily basis? I have a Dell inspiron 2350 computer with a Western Digital SATA hard drive. When I run CCleaner my computer seems to run faster. Thanks
Moderators Nergal Posted September 30, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 30, 2015 As long as you don't have Wipe Free Space enabled and turn off multiple wipes, there should not be harm done. Those two options I mentioned cause more wear and tear on your hard drive than a normal clean would. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. jengr2015
I don't have wipe free space enabled. I do not see anything about multiple wipes. I have version 5.10.5373 and I have not made any personal changes. Whatever was checked when I downloaded this version that's what I went with. I am not talking about the registry cleaner. Moderators Nergal Posted September 30, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 30, 2015 Perfect, yes then it would be correct to assume no harm would befoul your pc or at least no more than would occur with regular computer use ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.
