There are programs out there (expensive) that recover this info, but the unit powering up makes quit a difference. If not you could try JTAG but that is quit expensive. MikeOx Posted October 20, 2013 Author Share Posted October 20, 2013 Scott, you are correct it no longer powered up after several tries, and yes I took it apart in order to retrieve the HDD and I bought a ZIF adapter so that I could plug it to a pc through a USB. Alan_B Posted October 21, 2013 Share Posted October 21, 2013 I tried drying by leaving it inside rice for about 7 days and it wouldn't work, I think a data recovery specialist would have more effective means of dealing with a water-logged HDD than packing it in Rice.
