Why does it require internet access?

When running CCleaner why does it require the internet access?

I have a firewall that warns me of any programs accessing/wanting access to the net and CCleaner does.

If i deny it, it closes.

What does it need it for?

Is it sending out the cleaning history to CCleaner?

If that's the case, so much for privacy ;)

Can you put CCleaner in your exceptions list for your firewall. That would stop the prompts, what firewall do you use? I don't know the answer to your internet question.

I can put it in the exceptions list and I'm forced to because it closes if I deny it internet access.

I'd like to know why it needs net access?

No need for it, if it's a simple basic tool that's made to delete things.

Does it let the computer owner specify what he/she wants to uninstall?

Hi Gamer,

Welcome to the forum!!!

When you say uninstall do you mean software? YES in the TOOLS function.Remember that list shows what software can be uninstalled if The User wants to do that.It is not a list of software recommended to be uninstalled.

When you say uninstall if you mean temp files and things like that the user can Analyze what will be cleaned. If he wants not clean certain data he must change his options.

Have a look here before using CCleaner
