jake
When running CCleaner why does it require the internet access? I have a firewall that warns me of any programs accessing/wanting access to the net and CCleaner does. If i deny it, it closes. What does it need it for? Is it sending out the cleaning history to CCleaner? If that's the case, so much for privacy

That would stop the prompts, what firewall do you use? I don't know the answer to your internet question. No need for it, if it's a simple basic tool that's made to delete things.
Moderators rridgely Posted January 29, 2006 Moderators Share Posted January 29, 2006 It uses internet access to check for updates. You can turn it off by going to Options>Settings>Check for updates.

davey
Does it let the computer owner specify what he/she wants to uninstall? -Gamer Freak Hi Gamer, Welcome to the forum!!! When you say uninstall do you mean software? YES in the TOOLS function.Remember that list shows what software can be uninstalled if The User wants to do that.It is not a list of software recommended to be uninstalled. When you say uninstall if you mean temp files and things like that the user can Analyze what will be cleaned. If he wants not clean certain data he must change his options. Have a look here before using CCleaner http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?s=&...ost&p=10266 davey
