What's the point of wipe?

Out of interest, what's the point of the normal or secure wipe, even the max one, if recuva can show the viewed files anyway?

 

However i did find recuva VERY useful at recovering my corrupt directory of amiga games :D

To get rid of this information you need to compact and "squeeze-out" the unused entries using a third party program.

For paranoid people....

 

The disk wiper will wipe your drive for you if you're looking to sell it, I guess, otherwise it's mostly to make recovering data more difficult.

Guess you could call everyone using ccleaner paranoid though :D

Not really. I use ccleaner for genuine technical reasons. For getting rid of tons upon tons of temp files. decluttering..
