infias
I'm trying to schedule the cleaning using the /AUTO flag on an unregistered copy, but the registration window pop-up prevents that.
Moderators Nergal Posted February 12, 2013 Moderators Share Posted February 12, 2013 Unless you purchased CCleaner (and even then I believe) there is no registration window. From where did you obtain CCleaner? ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. infias
I'm using the one from this site. I did not purchase it though, and the pop-up happens all of the time which negates the usage of the /AUTO flag, because it won't run until you cancel the window. Moderators Nergal Posted February 27, 2013 Moderators Share Posted February 27, 2013 there should be no registration pop up, ccleaner is absolutely not nagware. uninstall ccleaner remove ccleaner entries from registry re-download the latest version reboot computer reinstall ccleaner if still presented with nag please screenshot and post to this thread ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Moderators Nergal Posted February 28, 2013 Moderators Share Posted February 28, 2013 (edited) Alan, come on, stop confusing the poster. They OBVIOUSLY mean that they got it from Piriform's site. I cannot recreate this issue Edited February 28, 2013 by Nergal ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Alan_B
Alan, come on, stop confusing the poster. They OBVIOUSLY mean that they got it from Piriform's site. I accept that was the meaning. Unfortunately there are times when a Google result will lead the innocent to a site that PRETENDS to supply CCleaner.exe, There have been several such instances in recent months. It is unfortunate but the rules/syntax are confusing to the innocent - and also to myself, and "forum.piriform.com" looks related to "piriform.com" but the content is quite different, and comes from a different site under different ownership on a different part of the internet ( 6 mSec difference ).
