d51bear
Hi. I'm running Vista Enterprise with SP 2. Defraggler v2.10. After running Defraggler manually a few times, I had it set up a daily 2:00 AM task. The last time I manually ran, I needed to stop it around 64% done. The graphic display showed quite a bit of fragmentation left. This morning, the Task Scheduler started DF. It looks like DF ran for 21 seconds then stopped. The graphic display still shows a lot of fragmentation. What did DF do, and why did it stop? I have cut and pasted all the task history events from this morning. 2:00:00 AM Task Scheduler launched "{b3534cf4-93e6-4422-8819-5ff524b6f9cb}" instance of task "\Defraggler Volume C Task" due to a time trigger condition. Task Engine "S-1-2-3:NT AUTHORITY\System:Service:" received a message from Task Scheduler service requesting to launch task "\Defraggler Volume C Task" . Task Scheduler started "{b3534cf4-93e6-4422-8819-5ff524b6f9cb}" instance of the "\Defraggler Volume C Task" task for user "DOMAIN\SSMITH1$". Task Scheduler launched action "C:\Program Files\Defraggler\df.exe" in instance "{b3534cf4-93e6-4422-8819-5ff524b6f9cb}" of task "\Defraggler Volume C Task". Task Scheduler launch task "\Defraggler Volume C Task" , instance "C:\Program Files\Defraggler\df.exe" with process ID 5240. 2:00:21 AM Task Scheduler successfully completed task "\Defraggler Volume C Task" , instance "{b3534cf4-93e6-4422-8819-5ff524b6f9cb}" , action "C:\Program Files\Defraggler\df.exe" with return code 0. Task Scheduler successfully finished "{b3534cf4-93e6-4422-8819-5ff524b6f9cb}" instance of the "\Defraggler Volume C Task" task for user "DOMAIN\SSMITH1$". And that's it. d51bear
I did update. Looking in the Task Scheduler history, it was six days later when it looks like it's running correctly now. It's run the last three days now. Will check the history again in a few days.
