eL_PuSHeR
Hello. Using DF. 2.11 under Win7 x64 I wonder if Defrag Freespace is going to be fixed anytime in a near future. Both options ("defrag freespace" and "defrag freespace (allow fragmentation)") produce a lot of fragmentation.
Jamin4u
I noticed that as well in the normal mode of defrag freespace. I start out with no fragmented files then end up defraging from the file list afterward. It was also present in v2.10.424. No big deal here, but it would be nice to see it do better if possible. Super Fast
Just checking, but was this with the options checkmarked to exclude restore points & hibernation files?
eL_PuSHeR
I have System Restore disabled (no restore points). I don't use hibernation either (powercfg -h off).
Super Fast
Go into Defraggler options & exclude Hibernation & Restore points from defragging. Also, checkmark to disable VSS.
Jamin4u
Go into Defraggler options & exclude Hibernation & Restore points from defragging. Also, checkmark to disable VSS. Since I started using Defraggler in v2.10.424, I've always had these three options enabled . I still get alot of fragmentation when using the normal mode of defrag freespace.
