n3hkn Posted July 5, 2012 Share Posted July 5, 2012 I have defragged all the files that were shown on the File List. Started normal defrag and File List showed No Files To Be Defragged. However, the normal defrag operation shows 1,334 fragmented files and DeFragger shows it will run for an hour. I can understand the 1334 files if it is showing those I excluded. My guess is that although you've coalesced the files so they are not fragmented, Defraggler estimates it will take some time to consolidate them at the beginning of the drive. I don't bother with partition defrag — file defrag is good enough for me. Some blank space between files will not affect performance, and the disk controller will eventually fill in that space anyhow. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
