CCleaner not cleaning my cookies

Recommended Posts

When I analyze Firefox cookies in CCleaner it does not show them, and running the cleaner does not remove them. I don't want to delete the cookies directly from the browser, because there are a ton of them and I don't want to go through them to save the ones I prefer to keep. I went to the trouble of making sure the cookies I wanted to keep were listed as such in the CCleaner's cookie options list of cookies to keep. Why won't CCleaner perform this function?

Thanks,

Ellen

you must completely quit all Mozilla based programs before it can clean. Make sure to quit thunderbird, songbird, older versions of emusic download managers.

check your task manager under the processes tab for any leave behinds (including plugin_container)

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
