Gino23
Hello I was wondering if Speccy sometimes reports incorrect information about hard drives. I recently bought a new computer that has a Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA3 6GB/S 7200RPM 64MB Cache hard drive but when I look at the Speccy report it shows that the hard drive is only 5400 RPM with 2MB cache. I googled the model number that's shown there and the correct hard drive comes up but on Speccy it keeps showing the 5400 RPM hard drive and the Sata type is SATA II with 3.0 Gb/s . Are Speccy reports usually always right because if it is I need to take my computer in and get the hard drive I paid for! Thanks in advance
kroozer
Speccy isn't perfect, misses the mark sometimes. WD doesn't make 5400 RPM / 2MB cache HDDs. Check your pc's HDD model # in Control Panel ➣ Device Manager ➣ Disk Drives. Caviar Black Click on Specifications
redhawk
Speccy doesn't always give out the correct information especially for newish hardware so no it's not always right. Therefore I would have to say information provided on the manufacturing website is the one you should trust. Richard S.
