CCleaner help

Desire

Recommended Posts

I did one of those trial cleaner things that said I was in BIG trouble. So, my friend had me get CCleaner and helped me run it. Now my MP3 Rocket is not working properly. I'm pretty sure we "cleaned" the files for it. I didn't know how to exempt them or that it would keep my MP3 from working. What do I do? I'm a dinosaur and don't really understand a lot of computer or program lingo, so please simplify your responses.

Hi Desire, and welcome to the forum.

I think you could have problems with a possible malware download onto your computer.

I did one of those trial cleaner things that said I was in BIG trouble.

Did you hit a web page which popped up warnings about your computer being infected with all sorts of stuff, scans running on your screen, and suggesting you download some software to fix the problem. Antivirus type software?

If so, CCleaner won't help with that, and you need to visit this part of the forum, and follow the instructions as best you can. If you have problems with any of it, just mention that in your first post, and the Spyware Moderator, Rorschach112 will sort you out.

If not, what exactly happened after you were told you were in big trouble?
