It cleans what it cleans.

 

You run Analyze and it tells you what is about to be zapped, based any 10,0000,00 applications that may, or may not, be installed.

 

That tells you what you have requested, whether on Win 98 or XP or 7.

If you are apprehensive you can then search the internet for information to guide you on whether options should be unchecked.

 

Detailed knowledge of precise locations for all applications is (or should be) company confidential.

Look for the .INI files included in CCleaner - there's a pinned thread where the Piriform devs give them.

However, some of them are special, i.e. hardcoded in CCleaner, such as Firefox's cleaning.
