Rise-T
Hi! The following feature would fit nicely into CCleaner imo (I just solved a problem with messed up icons by doing this): Clean/Rebuild Icon Cache: http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/how-to-rebuild-the-icon-cache-in-windows-vista/ Thanks in advance! Moderators Nergal Posted June 8, 2010 Moderators Share Posted June 8, 2010 It's already in Winapp2.ini (see my signature for information on winapp2.ini) If you don't have one, I keep this in my winsys2.ini [*Icon Cache] LangSecRef=3002 Default=true FileKey1=%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data|IconCache.db FileKey2=%LocalAppData%|IconCache.db ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Rise-T
Thanks very much! Would be nice to see this as a default feature as this is not something application specific, but the Winapp2.ini is very useful none the less (I did not know about the latter, btw). Rise-T
Well, CCleaner clears the *cache* of various OS components / applications (e. g. the Thumbnails Cache) - and this is the icon *cache*. i personally dont see how restoring default icons has anything to do with junk cleaning
