Recovered Files missing header Information

Hello, I recovered about 400 digital photos, all with an "Excellent" evaluation by Recuva before the recovery. All are missing the header information that allows Irfanview and other viewers to display the photo.

So what did I miss, what do I need to do to allow viewing of the recovered files?

Recuva says "Excellent" when clusters of deleted file are not in use by other files, this doesn't mean what you recover will be free from errors.

Just to make sure something else isn't going on -- if you go to Thumbnail View in Recuva before you actually recover those 400 photos -- do you see the images/photos?
