Latest CCleaner - 2.28.1091 gives an exception when pressing "cookies" in Options section.

Pressing "Run CCleaner" has the same effect when it comes to opera cookies.

Here is screenshots.

(I can't tell opera's version - there is no .exe file! it seems to be half-deleted...)

is is possible for you to switch to english on your ccleaner, and re-screenshot, as to allow the majority of the site users to be able to read the exception error?

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

:] Switch to english on what? Ccleaner is always being used in "portable" incarnation in english only, without any language files - .exe and .ini only.

It' system messagebox, and this particular system has only russian locale, sorry...

---------------------------

CCleaner.exe - Ошибка приложения

---------------------------

Исключение unknown software exception (0xc000000d) в приложении по адресу 0x00446f93.

"ОК" -- завершение приложения

"Отмена" -- отладка приложения

ОК Отмена

means

CCleaner.exe - Application error

---------------------------

Exception unknown software exception (0xc000000d) in application at adress 0x00446f93.

"OK" -- close application

"Cancel" -- debug application

OK Cancel

(don't remember the exact content of this msgbox in english)

I'll try to repeat this at old japanese notebook with english locale...

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you (I found it hard until today to show all my posts)

your quote was enough to help people :)

so you've got a half uninstalled opera and it seems to be causing this issue, is that correct?

Could you try this, uncheck everything on both the application and system tabs (in ccleaner) one by one try each check mark until the crash occurs (check the first checkbox run cleaner, in this is successful uncheck it and check the next box and run)

You can also try to reinstall and uninstall Opera if you believe that is the issue

Exactly.

Geez, no need to unchek everything, just unchek Opera-Cookies on Applications tab and cleaning go smoothly.

And go for simle analysis. Check Opera-Cookies and run Filemon. It says that last accessed file before an esception was cookies4.dat.

Just moved it out from the %ProgramFiles%\Opera\profile\ and issue solved. Both System-Options-Cookies and Application-Opera-Cookies.

And what is "cookies4.dat.sbsd.bak"? It's 160Kb against "cookies4.dat" 13Kb. And moving it out from profile makes no difference.

Uploaded buggy cookies4.dat, with hope, that it will be analyzed by developers.

Issue is Ccleaner crushing when processing certain opera's cookies4.dat database.

But until you have a fully installed properly working Opera I doubt the developers will take any notice, they can hardly be expected to work on bugs for "half-deleted" installs.
