LonelyPixel
I've heard about Defraggler today and thought I'd just give it a try. They use CCleaner in our company and I also installed it today. Defraggler does a disk analysis and then shows me the basic summary it has found. But whatever I do next, it doesn't take long and the whole application is in a life lock, taking 50% CPU time (single thread of dual core) and not responding to input anymore. I've tried to view the list of files, making the columns a bit wider, sorting by different column; next time I have searched files by path to see where they reside on my disk. I have no idea where this bug comes from as I've done nothing special, just looking around for a moment. I won't let an application that freezes all the time touch any of my files. Could you please fix that?
Moderators hazelnut Posted February 4, 2010 Moderators Share Posted February 4, 2010 Would you be good enought to run it in debug mode and attach the log in a post so the devs can have a look. http://docs.piriform.com/defraggler/troubl...r-in-debug-mode Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com
dbuck53
Would you be good enought to run it in debug mode and attach the log in a post so the devs can have a look. http://docs.piriform.com/defraggler/troubl...r-in-debug-mode I have the same problem from the get-go, defraggler freezes up and becomes non-responsive almost immediately after the analysis. I am attaching the dubug file for you benefit, then removing the program. I wont take chances with a defrag program that hangs. NickP
I would just like to add to this as I am experiencing the same problem. Information - Windows 7 Professional x64 - Defraggler64.exe 1.16.165 The drive I'm analyzing is my secondary application drive. 500 GB capacity, half full. I can analyze the drive (68% fragmentation) and then anything else I do causes Defraggler to lock up and I have to explicitly end the process in task manager. Defraggler is installed on my main system drive (C:\) whereas I'm trying to analyze my secondary drive (D:\). I don't know if this makes a difference. I can try installing it on D:\ and see if it still crashes, if you think it would help. I ran in debug mode and attached the file below. Defraggler64.exe._1_16_165__2010_02_14_23_25_.txt Thanks! Guest MrRon
Can you clarify if this issue is only present in the latest release, 1.17?
LonelyPixel
Here's the debug log. But I'm afraid it doesn't contain any information about the freeze. After analysis, the application froze immediately. I had to kill it to close it. Defraggler.exe._1_16_165__2010_02_25_20_45_.txt
icefall5
I have the same problem. I just updated today to 1.17, but I was previously running 1.13 and had the same problem there. I did notice that in 1.17 it does not freeze until I click somewhere within the program window, whereas 1.13 would just freeze whether I clicked or not. Debug file attache It also takes forever for the program to stop defragging, and the program would usually freeze when I click Stop during a defrag. TastyWheat
Mine freezes pretty randomly too, but never in the middle of a defrag. It usually freezes when I do something simple like select the menu or switch tabs. I included my log file. I didn't stop the program until it froze on me (I selected a different drive).
