Microsoft Word Document Recovery HELP PLEASE

i was working on my project today on Microsoft word. work work. save. work work save. My friend comes over because i asked him to give me his Windows 7 CD for me to install. I go ahead and install it, but i forgot that installing it deletes everything saved onto the computer. I download "PC Tools File Recover" to try to find it but so far i cant recover it. Please help me. this will hugely impact my grade if not turned in. The file was a Microsoft word Document saved onto my Desktop. i dont know why it cant recover it. it's only been there for a week at most... All help is immensely appreciated.

I read it and it said you can find the file if it isnt overwrited. Does resaving it everytime i type some overwriting? Or has Windows 7 made a new file to replace it. and i did realize almost immediately. during the installation i clicked "x" because i remembered it deletes everything via. my final but it said it might leave the computer unusable so i just let it go on ahead. i used file recovery to search it. Deep Scan Physical Scan and i even typed the file's name into the tags part.
