Ccleaner & Firefox

Hi,

After I run Ccleaner, Firefox takes between 30 sec and 1 min to open. Once opened then closed, as long as I don't run Ccleaner again Firefox will open quickly. But if I run Ccleaner again it will take over 30 sec to open again. I don't want Ccleaner to ignore Firefox as I want it to delete history and coockies but it must be deleting much more than that. I have checked the settings. Could you please help and tell me how to set it up to what I want. Thanks

These are the boxes that are ticked:

Cookies

Download History

Internet Cache

Internet History

Saved Form Information

The only box that is unticked is: Compact Databases.

Thanks

I have no problem with Firefox. The only box I have unticked is "Save Form Information", just to make my life easier.

I would agree that Compact Databases should be ticked, as not doing it seems to be contrary to what CCleaner is designed to do.

Hi, thanks for the responses. Old Prefetch Data was ticked. I have now

unticked that and also selected Compact Databases. Still seems to be the same??

I have yet to try unticking all firefox boxes, I'll cjeck that next and get back.

Ok, I unchecked all Firefox boxes and Firefox opened in 5 seconds. So the

problem is definately with Ccleaner. With the firefox boxes checked, Firefox

can take up to 1 min to open after a clean.????

Any ideas??

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling CCleaner? Sometimes that gets rid of annoying little glitches.

In order for the Piriform Bug Fixers to investigate this can you provide more information:

* Windows operating system version.

* Firefox version, and any Firefox add-ons you have installed.

* Other resident running software like your installed anti-virus.

Many Firefox issues can be overcome by running Firefox's own built-in cleaning tool:

'Tools->Clear Recent History' - make sure you untick/don't use the Site Preferences box as it will delete all your bookmarks.
