geitje
Hi all... I've checked if this topic has come up before, but it appears to be a first. The laptop (Packard Bell) of my girlfriend recently crashed, with a defective video card. Packard Bell replaced the entire motherboard, but regrettably (though predictably) they restored the laptop to factory settings - everything is lost. Now, we have almost everything backed up, except for one emtionally important file: her diary (covering her pregnancy of our babies). Is there any chance, any chance at all, of recovering a file from a laptop restored to factory settings, or is it completely and utterly lost? I've run Recova with a few variations of the settings, but so far without result... So, is there any hope, do you think? Many, many thanks in advance! Moderators Augeas Posted June 18, 2009 Moderators Share Posted June 18, 2009 Run a deep scan, including non-deleted files, and sort results on name, file size, last modified (look for approx date last accessed), or folder. It's about all you can do.
