n4aof
I heard good things about Recuva so I downloaded it from the website. THe download and installation all worked as expected. But when I run Recuva either from the start menu or from the desktop icon, I get a splash screen that lasts about 2/10 of a second then it disappears and nothing else happens. I thought something might have been wrong with the download so I uninstalled Recuva, then downloaded a fresh copy using the alternate download site, Again the download and installation all appeared to go normally, but again, when I tried to run the program all I get is the initial splash screen for a fraction of a second. The splash screen that pops up seems to have one or two buttons at the bottom but I can't be sure because the box is only visible for a fraction of a second. I tried disabling my antivirus program but that didn't make any difference, still all I get is the initial screen for a fraction of a second. The computer is running Windows XP Media Center with 1.5GB RAM.

n4aof
right click on the short-cutchoose properties switch to compatibility tab hope this helps My compatibility tab doesn't look quite like that, but fortunately the check boxes are in the same place so it wasn't hard to figure it out. That fixed it. Thanks
Moderators hazelnut Posted June 6, 2009 Moderators Share Posted June 6, 2009 Recuva is a program, it doesn't run in a browser! Not what I meant. I was thinking the download and install may have been corrupted in some way so my thinking was to try a different browser. (Bear in mind it was before 6am this morning that I had that thought!) Anyway metatron sorted it out, even though you didn't know the language Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com
