OndroNR Posted May 30, 2009 Share Posted May 30, 2009 OS: Vista x64 latest updates (SP2 not available for my language) I can't safe remove USB flashdrive (or HDD) when defraggler is running (even without defragmentation running).. redhawk Posted January 1, 2010 Share Posted January 1, 2010 Defraggler seems to have a permanent handle open for every available drive in Windows not just the flash drive. Without the flash drive handle close it cannot be safely removed however you can force close a process handle with software. I would have recommended Unlocker however I understand it does not support Vista 64 therefore I would suggest using Sysinternals Process Explorer instead - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/sysinte...s/bb896653.aspx Richard S. OndroNR Posted January 1, 2010 Author Share Posted January 1, 2010 I know what the problem (opened handles) is.. I use USB Safely Remove which can close opened handles but it is quite annoying.. If I'm in the middle of defrag of another drive and I need to remove usb drive safely I have to stop the defrag. Latest O&O Defrag is not doing this.
