Micromaniac
A friend of my said that after using CCleaner his homepage was removed from Firefox and his 'dreamsscene' desktop was also gone. He used the standard configuration and did the 'cleaning' action and the 'registry-fix' action. He has Vista Ultimate x64 I find this very strange, but he insures me that CCleaner did it.. Anyone? Moderators Nergal Posted February 27, 2009 Moderators Share Posted February 27, 2009 and the 'registry-fix' action. My guess is he just deleted all of the checked box (I.e. he did not follow the advice in my signature) hopefully he did a backup but if not he must either do a sysrestore or reinstall. . .tell him from now on to follow my advice WOOT ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Micromaniac
So your quess is that it happened whit the registry cleaning action? Maybe the homepage & the dreamscene-desktop were somehow related to an error and therefor 'removed' by CCleaner?
