ItchyDani3l
I accidentally started to remove my C:\ directory, but I stopped midway. I lost all of the stuff on my desktop, most of it essential stuff I NEED. Since it was removed via the command promt, I'm not sure if it can be recovered with Recova. I really need some feedback. Where would I look and what options would I use in Recuva to find them. Thanks, Itchy... P.S. This is VERY important. I mean like "I'm going to die in 5 days*" important. *not really, but you get my point. EDIT: Also, is Recuva able to recover .txt documents when set o recover 'documents' and/or when in the deep scan mode?
Moderators Andavari Posted January 29, 2009 Moderators Share Posted January 29, 2009 The best advice I have is this: 1. Use the most recent System Restore Point which was made before your unfortunate venture with the Command Prompt. 2. Give Recuva a try for those things the System Restore Point can't restore. Many Recuva related questions are answered in the documentation located at: http://docs.piriform.com/
ItchyDani3l
Thank's alot. I got alot of my files back (or at least found them, as some were unrecoverable due to my meddling xD).
Moderators Andavari Posted February 2, 2009 Moderators Share Posted February 2, 2009 When making something to use via the Command Prompt I always type it into a text editor first, then copy and paste it into the Command Prompt window since with some commands used it can really cause issues on the system if an accident is made.
