davey
Does CCleaner delete files, info, etc or does it shred the info so that it cannot be recovered?? Thanks. Hi Stu, It deletes and will also "overwrite" what it deletes if you set the option to do so. Good luck, davey http://www.ccleanerbeginnersguide.com/ CCleaner Beginner's Guide.com Bookmark and save to Favorites Davey....Thanks for the help. In the Beginners Guide I found the following and set the option to NSA (7 passes): Secure Deletion (Changing the option here will allow for secure file deletion) Normal file deletion (Faster) - Default Simple Overwrite (1 pass) DOD 5220.22-M (3 passes) NSA (7 passes) Gutmann (35 passes) I assume this is the correct option. Thanks again. Stu
Moderators Andavari Posted July 29, 2008 Moderators Share Posted July 29, 2008 On modern drives and OSes with NTFS "Simple Overwrite (1 pass)" is more than enough to suffice.
