If the Cookies are checked then they are deleted unless you want to retain certain cookies because you visit certain web sites regularly. I'm in about 50 different forums so I retain the Cookies from these forums so it saves remembering usernames and passwords. You would have to select these sites in the Options/Cookies dialog then these will be rertained. If you use Recuva then after you have run CCleaner run Recuva and you will see all the files that have been deleted from your Cookies folder.
