CD drive with windows explorer

Recommended Posts

When I insert a cd/dvd into my disc drive windows explorer will not recognise it, will just think its a blank disc. Also autorun will not do anything at all, i have tried googling about autorun and tried a few suggestions like with the registry and stuff but no luck. If i try to look at the cd in windows media player for example, it can see and use it.

Anyone have any suggestions to fix this?

Homer: I never apologise, im sorry Lisa. Thats just the way i am

You could try the fix at the link below.

Go to "Win XP Fixes" then look in the right column, about the tenth fix down "Restore CD/DVD Drives to Explorer" and follow the instructions.

If no joy the link below may offer alternatives.

Annoyances - Autorun Fix

Oopsies - Vista, I missed it.

Go to control panel, switch to classic view, and have a look at the Autoplay settings in there?
