TeeJay3800
I just installed Avant Browser after seeing how fast IE is on my machine (Avant uses the IE layout engine, Trident). Can someone tell me how to turn off the annoying "click" sound every time I click the mouse in IE? I'm referring to the sound made every time you click a link or a button in the browser. I've dug through all the options, but can't find anything. Thanks! Dell Latitude D600 Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit SP1
Moderators Andavari Posted October 27, 2007 Moderators Share Posted October 27, 2007 Windows XP: 1. Go to: Control Panel->Sound, Speech, Audio Devices->Sound and Audio Devices 2. Click the tab: Sounds It "may" be this one: Under Windows->Start Navigation The wav file in question is: Windows Navigation Start.wav Indeed it's annoying as hell, which is why I turn off all those sounds. What do you check or uncheck in there? There doesn't appear to be any thing to check in the sounds tab.
Moderators Andavari Posted October 27, 2007 Moderators Share Posted October 27, 2007 Nothing to tick, but to disable a sound do this: 1. At the very bottom under Sounds: it will show the .wav file used for a sound. 2. Use the downward facing arrow button to pull up a menu, then go all the way to the top to select (None) Screenshot:
