jbmcq
Hi all, This is not a big problem. But In the last 2 updates (Prior to that all was well). I have always saved a before cleaning and after cleaning log file for the purpose if anything went wacky I could trace it down that way. I always save a Registry back up when fixing issues. The 2 new versions let me save these items just fine the difference is they save them as an unrecogniseable file . Before they were saved as notepad text document for the cleaner files and registration entries for the reg back ups. Now they are saved with a file type Windows doesn't recognise. I am using WinXP Pro Ver 5.1.2600 service pack 2 build 2600 I would like the program to save things as they did BUT if it's not possible what program do I use to open the registry back ups with if I need to reinstall them? Of course the text files open when I'm prompted to the open with dialogue box and use notepad. So far this is the only problem I've had. This is a great program and I've referred a number of people to it. Keep up the good work and thanks for your time. JB
Moderators hazelnut Posted October 17, 2007 Moderators Share Posted October 17, 2007 Just in case your file association for .reg files is mixed up, you could always try the reg file association fix listed here. http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com
