Canary
My Adobe Reader 7.0.8 keeps trying to update itself, but it then comes up with a message stating that it can't update because it can't remove the previous version of Adobe Reader 8.1. I've tried removing Adobe entirely from my system, but I can't get the last files from version 7.0.8 to delete. When I then visit the Acrobat site and try to install version 8.1 again, I get the same message about version 8.1 - even though I don't think I have version 8.1 installed in the first place. So I guess my questions are, how do I completely delete version 7.0.8, and how do I also make sure that any trace of version 8.1 is also removed before I start the installation progresss again from scratch? Canary
Thanks for this. Part of the problem seems that I can't remove two of the updates. In "Add/Remove Programs", it says "This update cannot be removed".

Moderators DennisD Posted September 2, 2007 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2007 If you get your problem sorted out Canary, and you like Adobe, which I do, there's an Adobe 8.1 Lite version available here, which you can save to disk, and install from your desktop.
