craigathus
Hi guys I only just realized that I can't get Windows XP updates manually. If I have IE7 sand boxed as normal, I can go to "Microsoft Windows Update" however when I click check for updates nothing happens, I just get some error message. I tried getting updates without having IE7 sand boxed, and every thing seemed to work. Is this normal? is Sandboxie messing things up? http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds http://www.piriform.com/docs http://www.postimage.org/
Humpty
Hi Craigathus, You could come over to the Sandboxie forum and ask Tzuk the author of Sandboxie. No need to register. Sandboxie also prevents programs executing inside the sandbox from loading drivers directly. It also prevents programs from asking a central system component, known as the Service Control Manager, to load drivers on their behalf. In this way, drivers, and more importantly, rootkits, cannot be installed by a sandboxed program. SB forum

SB forum Hi Humpty Thanks for the reply. The quote in your post explains a lot, and I will check out the SB forum forum. I assume Windows automatic update is still working in the background "getting and installing updates" http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds http://www.piriform.com/docs http://www.postimage.org/
