I want to suggest a new feature that should be implemented in CCleaner: support for Microsoft Virtual Desktop Manager (part of the PowerToys package). This program allows you to configure 4 independent dekstops with separate backgrounds. The user-configured background images are stored in "c:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\" (if the user is Administrator of course). The problem is, that CCleaner is erasing all files when cleaning this directory. The following 4 files should be preserved: MSVDM-Desktop0.bmp MSVDM-Desktop1.bmp MSVDM-Desktop2.bmp MSVDM-Desktop3.bmp That's all... Bye Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

andylytical Posted September 8, 2006 Share Posted September 8, 2006 WORKAROUND: If you set these files with "read only" permission, ccleaner will leave them alone. I just tried this and it worked for me. That said, it would be nice to see ccleaner provide the ability to specify files and/or dirs to ignore. Then MS Virtual Desktop Manager is broken, not CCleaner. Tell whoever make MS Virtual Desktop Manager to not store files in the temp folder.
