  1. I have the same problem. In the Health Check when I said to Scan PC I would get the message "Ccleaner Pro Edition (Not Responding)." I tried everything everybody else has tried with no success. Then while I was trying to think of what else I could do while the message was displayed the program suddenly came back to life and finished the scan. It gave me the results and when I said to fix my PC it was the same drill. After saying it was not responding it came back to life and ran again. I love the program and use it everytime I close down but what we have here is bogus program update. If this keeps up and Ccleaner doesn't fix it, it will make Norton and other cleaning apps look a lot more attractive.
  2. You were right! Somehow Goolge drive was set to sleep on my laptop but not set to sleep on my desktop. I appreciat your taking the time to reply. I'm embarassed about how much time I spent looking for the problem when all along the problem "are me." Thanks again.
  3. I just realized that I posted a similar topic a few weeks ago. Sorry for the duplication. Since posting this I have decided that Ccleaner could not be involved in my problem since Google drive fails to restart even when I do not use Ccleaner. My problem must be elsewhere.
  4. I can select Goole Drive in my start menu and G drive opens and stays running just fine. I have made all of the choices to have it open at start on its own but after I run Ccleaner prior to shut down each time and then restart my computer G Drive does not start on its own. I am wondering if I am somehow being too aggresive in Ccleaner's "Custom Cleaning" and undoing my G drive auto run selections, even though I have unchecked "Google Drive" in the Custom Clean Application list. Any suggestions?
  5. I can start Google drive by clicking on it in File Explorer. I have set my Google drive to start at log in, both in Win10 app settings and in Google drive itself. I also Enable the GoogleDriveFS in Ccleaner>Tools>Startup. In the Custom Clean section I have unchecked Microsoft OneDrive and Google drive under applications but then during the cleaning, Ccleaner asks to close OneDrive and Google drive and I allow it to close these files. After I finish running Ccleaner and reboot, Google drive doesn't load. I have tried uninstalling Google drive and reinstalling it, but it didn't change anything. My guess is that I am doing something too aggressive in my cleaning and undoing my efforts to run Google drive at login. Any suggestions?
  6. I have a couple of questions about using Performance Optimizer to speed up your computer. I couldn't find any answers so I would appreciate it if someone could help me. When you put an app to "sleep" it says it stops all scheduled tasks. Does that mean if I have a backup program scheduled to back up certain files once a week and I put the app to sleep, it will no longer perform the backup? If you put an app to sleep and then use i during the day, does it go back to sleep after you close the app when you are done? Thanks for any help.
  7. When I try to run CCleaner it says that it must first close Outlook. When I say OK it says it is not closing, do I wang to force it to close. I say yes and it proceeds. Problem is that Outlook is already closed and was not shown in Task Manager as being open. Any idea where this ghost Outlook is running and why?
  8. When I try to perform a Custom Clean on my desktop computer it shows me "Internet Explorer - Temporary Internet Files - 1kb - 1file." When I perform the clean and then analyze again it says "Internet Explorer - Temporary Internet Files - 5121kb - 1file." When I ask for details on this 1 file, (Ken is my user name), it says it gives me the following details: "C:\Users\Ken\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Low\SuggestedSites.dat 5,121 kb" but I cannot locate this file on my computer. On my laptop, performing the same task it sometimes also says "5121 kb" but then on other occassions it says "0kb." I use Chrome and not IE or Edge. Does anybody know what might cause this and how I can get rid of this file?
  9. Thanks for the reply. I don't use any of MS's browsers and don't know where I would have set up Suggested Sites, but it still does not explain why my SurfacePro, a virtual identical OS and CCleaner program to my desktop manages to eliminate the file and show "0" after a custom clean. My Surface pro, on the health check gets down to 1 tracker (which I understand what it is) and "0" on the others. My desktop never gets below 5 trackers.
  10. I use CCleaner for Win10, v. 5.87.9306 (64 bit) with Windows 10 v. 10.0.19043 (64 bit). My default browser is Chrome. When I attempt to analyze for a custom clean I am told that IE Temporary Internet Files has 5121k in one file. Running CCleaner never elimates it. The same report shows up under "Windows" and "Applications" in custom clean. I have tried to wipe temporary files directly in IE but they are still there in CCleaner. When I click on the IE Temp Files description in CCleaner I get the following description: "C:\Users\Ken\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Low\Suggestedsites.dat" (BTW my Windows user name is "Ken") I search for this file, showing hidden files also, but cannot find it. I run the same version of CCleaner on my SurfacePro7 running the same version of Windows 10 but do not get this custom clean message. When I run custom clean on my SurfacePro it comes back "0" after running CCleaner. Any ideas why I get two different reports and how I can eliminate this IE file on my desktop and keep it from returning?
