  1. I've got an iphone and an ipod touch and there was definately a learning curve with it. but now that im used to it, i actually quite like it. i agree with andavaris post about different format. it seems apple is just missing a few features in their software/devices to make them really perfect.

  2. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but i couldn't seem to find anything specific. I was wondering if there was a way to configure ccleaner to automatically run upon shutdown of firefox. Just firefox, and not shut down the pc, but just when i close all firefox windows if ccleaner could run.

    Thanks! :)

  3. lol...yeah i tend to get excited about gadgets and such. I spend a lot of time out of the house and its nice having the smart phones so i can get my email, msn, text, and internet while im out and about. i actually barely talk on the phone itself, but the rest of the features i use a ton. plus they come in handy when driving to the cottage or whatever with the kids because i can let them watch cartoons and such on them to keep em entertained for a bit. and i use motley crew as a ring tone right now.......kickstart my heart plays when somebody calls....lol...

  4. lol....too funny all the replies. I love this phone, its amazing. I also have the Blackberry Storm which I got in February, but to be honest, it doesn't hold a candle to the iphone. I've had a number of cells and none have come close to this thing. Internet is really fast and the screen is great to look at. I finally got an iphone after having the ipod touch for the last year and playing with it and just thought I would really like this phone. And man do i ever!

  5. lol...good advice dennisd. i used to post back when i used to have a brewski or two....lol....not anymore.....back when i got my first computer (commodore vic20) i dont think there was an internet...........1982.........how old am i? lol...but then didnt get my next one till i think 2000 or 2001...my posts still run on at times!

  6. This is the premier site for forwarding your ports. It will show you how to do it by router and software:

    Heres another one:

And if you need router default passwords these sites are good:

    If you need your ip:

For a proxy (privacy) go here:

  7. I upgraded to V3 and it's fine. It had some bugs at first, but all worked out. It took some getting used to, but it's a great browser. Nice to see you posting tommyk, you are an oldie like some of the rest of us! :)

  8. For a bittorrent client, use Utorrent. Its easy to use and you can install the ipfilter.dat. Don't go to the piratesbay or sites like that....notorious for infected files.private trackers are best but you have to keep your ratios up.

if you are looking for rarer or odd files, emule is way better. files stay on the network for years and you can find hard to find stuff.

peerguardian (or protowall) are simply programs that import block lists (lists of blocked addresses). some recommend them, i find them useless as they simply block out a large percentage of net addresses, many of which are good clients. and those that want to see what you are downloading can simply change addresses anyways. if you are worried about security, use a proxy. set up a static ip address, forward your ports to it.

and check the laws in your country. in the US they have the DMCA which is a draconian copyright law. here in Canada, it is perfectly legal to download music so there are no need for programs like peerguardian and such. and always scan your files before unpacking, etc.

  9. Interesting thing that happened to me awhile back with gmail. I installed outlook after a reinstall of windows. Anyhoo, when importing my gmail emails, contacts, etc....it started to import emails that were no longer in my email box...these were emails that were deleted at least a year or two prior, with all spam, trash, etc. boxes cleared many many times, ccleaner ran, etc............and a reinstall of windows remember so definately wasn't sitting somewhere on my computer....anyways....weird thing, i don't know if i trust any of the emails......but i will say that i like gmail overall.....:)

  10. Yeah i get a ton of spam in my various gmail accounts too. But I get almost none in my hotmail, live, or yahoo accounts. Don't know why it is, but the spam IS sent to the spam folder so i don't really care......
